RAYMOND COGNIAT wrote about Diem Phung Thi

It seems that DIEM PHUNG THI has not been known by the people. Before this general exhibition of today, she rarely participated in any group exhibition. It is not a surprise when she receives the respect that a newcomer seldom receives. This originates from her talents that she has shown in her creative action which is always renovated by an art that consists of many complex elements thus creating diverse statues. There is no doubt that her origin from Vietnam gives her a sense initially regarded as innate that helps her discover the signs that has become language of statues. It is not a surprise that the graphic painting inspiration has turned into cubes but still maintains the beauty of letters and sculptural art.

On the other hand, the inspiration from poetry existing in the works of sculptor DIEM PHUNG THI bears the mysterious value of the graphic drawing art and the poetry of materials; these elements are combined thus mysteriously creating a secret and lively world. In each work, people do not receive a person or an action but the representative of a class of people, a form of action which is transferred from an entity to a symbol of thought.
